Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what Average AF Pty Ltd (ABN [insert]) collects through the Average AF app, why, and what control you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

WHAT WE COLLECT

- Account details — your name, email address and password (stored encrypted). You may also give us a phone number or postal address if you choose to.
- Profile photo — if you upload one.
- Your activity — the scores, challenges, WASSUP challenges, Dominator Badges, PIF gifts, WOW Factor points and community activity you create in the app.
- Community data — which communities you join, invite codes you use, and members you connect with.
- Messages and content — anything you post, submit or send through the app, including score verifications, video evidence submitted to support a score, and comments.
- Delivery details — if you win merchandise, the size and delivery address you give us so we can send it.
- Device and usage information — device type, operating system, app version, crash reports and basic usage analytics, so we can fix bugs and improve the app.
- Location — only if you turn on location permission, and only to support location-based features and general analytics. You can switch this off any time in your device settings, and the app will keep working without it.

We don't collect health records, payment card details or government identifiers.

WHY WE COLLECT IT

- To create and run your account.
- To run rankings, leaderboards, WASSUP challenges, Dominator runs, Banter Board Challenges and communities.
- To award, track and redeem WOW Factor points and Dominator Badges.
- To verify scores, including reviewing video evidence where a game or a badge tier requires it.
- To send merchandise you've won.
- To keep comps fair — detecting duplicate accounts, false scores and misuse.
- To send you account emails you've asked for, like password resets and challenge notifications.
- To fix problems, improve the app, and keep it secure.
- To meet our legal obligations.

WHAT OTHER MEMBERS CAN SEE

- Your name, profile photo, AF scores, WOW activity and Dominator Badge record are visible to other members in leaderboards, WASSUP challenges and communities you belong to.
- Where your community takes part in a Banter Board Challenge, your name and qualifying scores are visible on that public Banter Board.
- Your email address, phone number and postal address are not shown to other members.
- Once something is visible to a community, other members may see or screenshot it. Only post what you're comfortable sharing.

WHO ELSE WE SHARE IT WITH

- Service providers who help us run the app — hosting, database, email delivery, crash reporting and analytics — under obligations to keep it confidential and use it only for us.
- Reward partners, but only the minimum needed to fulfil a reward you've chosen to redeem.
- Delivery services, where you've won merchandise — name and delivery address only.
- Your community's organiser, where your community is in a Banter Board Challenge — your name and qualifying scores only, never your contact details.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we're required by law or need to protect someone's safety.

We never sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.

WHERE IT'S STORED

Your information is stored on secure servers, which may be located in Australia or overseas (including the United States) where our hosting and analytics providers operate. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

SECURITY

We use encryption in transit, access controls and password hashing to protect your information. No system is perfect, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but if a data breach occurs that's likely to cause serious harm, we'll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep your information while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we need to keep records to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute. De-identified historical scores may remain in aggregate leaderboards and statistics.

YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

- Access: ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: update your details in the app, or ask us to fix anything that's wrong.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your account and personal information at any time.
- Notifications: turn app notifications and location permission on or off in your device settings.
- Emails: we only send emails related to your account and activity — you can opt out of non-essential ones.

Email [insert support email] and we'll respond within 30 days.

CHILDREN

Average AF is not intended for children under 16. If we find out we've collected information from a child under 16 without parental consent, we'll delete it.

COMPLAINTS

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, contact us first at [insert support email]. If we haven't sorted it out to your satisfaction, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.

We'll post any updates here with a new "last updated" date, and let you know in the app if the change is significant.
