This policy explains how Average AF Pty Ltd (ABN 24 647 769 579) collects, uses, stores and shares personal information through the Average AF Account — the one login that works across all of our sites and apps.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Average AF Pty Ltd. "You" means anyone who creates or uses an Average AF Account.
| Site or app | Address | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| Average AF | averageaf.com | The main hub and account sign-in |
| The Wow Factor | thewowfactor.earth | Community, wellness practice, events, live shows and shopping |
| The ROAN Initiative | roaninitiative.au | Civic education and member participation, including F.E.R.M members |
| Members voting platform | App Store and Google Play | Member votes and elections across our projects |
| Average AF app | App Store and Google Play | Wellness app with games, crews and rewards |
| Stay One More Day app | App Store and Google Play | Psychosocial Risk management app for the workplace |
All of these are run by Average AF Pty Ltd. When you create an account on any one of them, the same email and password work on all of them.
Some sites have extra terms or notices of their own. Where a site collects something not covered here, it will tell you at the time.
Each site only asks for what it needs, and only the first time you use it. Anything already in your account is filled in for you.
| Site | What it asks for |
|---|---|
| Average AF | Your "F word" |
| The Wow Factor | Your wellness focus areas and goal. Optionally, health or wellbeing details you choose to share (see section 3) |
| The ROAN Initiative | Postcode, state or territory, federal electoral division, and whether you're interested in becoming a F.E.R.M member (see section 3) |
| Average AF app | To be confirmed when built |
| Stay One More Day app | To be confirmed when built |
If you buy from The Wow Factor store or a partner, we record the order (what you bought, the amount and the date) so we can award points and deal with cancellations. Card payments are handled by our payment provider. We don't see or store your full card number.
Posts, comments, chat messages in events and live shows, event bookings and check-ins, quiz answers, game scores, votes and letters you send through our sites.
The Privacy Act 1988 gives extra protection to some kinds of information, called "sensitive information". Two of our sites may collect it.
Health and wellbeing details (The Wow Factor). If you choose to share health or wellbeing details, we treat them as health information. We will only collect them:
These details are kept in The Wow Factor's own part of your account. They are not shown to, or used by, any of our other sites. You can leave these questions blank and still use The Wow Factor. You can withdraw your consent and ask us to delete these details at any time (see section 8).
Electoral and participation details (The ROAN Initiative). Your postcode, state and federal electoral division, whether you want to be a F.E.R.M member, your votes, and letters you send through ROAN could reveal your political opinions or membership of a political association. We treat all of these as sensitive information.
We collect them only with your consent, and only to organise members by electorate, run member votes and support the letters and meetings you take part in. The ROAN Initiative is not a political party and does not run or endorse candidates. We won't share your ROAN details with any political party, candidate or elected member without your clear consent, except where you send a letter or message to them yourself.
Ballots on the voting platform. Individual votes will be kept secret. Results of each poll and election will be made public.
We don't use sensitive information for advertising or marketing.
If you don't give us information a site needs (for example your postcode for ROAN), you may not be able to use that site or feature. You can use the other sites as normal.
We don't sell your personal information.
| Information | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Your account (name, display name, email, joined date, account status) | Every one of our sites you use |
| A site's extra details | Only that site. For example, ROAN can't see your WOW wellness details, and WOW can't see your ROAN electorate |
| WOW Points balance and history | Every one of our sites you use, so your points work everywhere |
| Your display name and what you post publicly | Other members, where the site shows it |
Only a small number of authorised Average AF people can see account records across sites, and only to run and protect the sites.
We use trusted providers to run our sites. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
| Provider | What they do | Where the information is held |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase and Google Cloud) | Sign-in, account records, WOW Points and security checks | Account records and points: Australia (Sydney). Sign-in and security checks: Google's global systems, which may include the United States and other countries |
| Abacus.AI | Hosts The Wow Factor | To be confirmed |
| Emergent | Builds and hosts our sites | To be confirmed |
| Stripe | Processes card payments | To be confirmed |
| Proton | Our email inboxes | Switzerland (to be confirmed) |
Some of the providers above store or process information outside Australia, in the countries listed. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.
We may also share information:
WOW Points are a free reward shared across our sites. They have no cash value, can't be bought, and can't be exchanged for cash. Your balance and history are kept as a permanent record: mistakes are fixed by adding a correction, not by changing past entries.
If an account breaks the rules of any of our sites, an authorised Average AF person can suspend or ban it. Because it's one account, a ban applies on every site. We record who made the decision, why, and when. A ban is always decided by a person, not a computer. If you think your account was banned by mistake, contact us (section 8) and a person will review it.
Some decisions about your account are made automatically by our systems, using the information listed below. A person can review any of them if you ask (section 8).
| Decision | Information used |
|---|---|
| Whether you receive WOW Points for an action, and how many | The action, your account, whether your email is verified, the earning rules, and your past awards for that rule (for example once-only and daily limits) |
| Whether a points spend goes through | Your balance and the amount |
| Whether a sign-in or request is accepted | Your sign-in details, your account status, and the security check described in section 2 |
| Which questions a site asks you | What's already in your account |
We don't use automated decisions to decide whether you can join, to profile you for advertising, or to make decisions based on your sensitive information.
No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.
You can ask us to close your account at any time (section 8). When we close it, we delete your login, your account, every site's extra details, and your WOW Points balance, which can't be restored. We keep only what the law requires us to keep, as listed above. Closing your account closes it on every site.
You can see and change most of your details yourself in your profile on any of our sites.
You can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. We'll reply within 30 days. We won't charge you for asking. If we can't give you something, we'll explain why.
We'll only send you news and offers if you've agreed to it. Every message has an unsubscribe link, or you can change this in your profile. You'll still get account messages, such as password resets.
Our sites are for people aged 16 and over. Some, like The Wow Factor, have a higher limit requiring guardian approval due to sensitive information requests. If we learn that a younger person has created an account, we'll close it.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, contact us first using the details below. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to respond in full within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:
We may update this policy as our sites change. The latest version is always at averageaf.com/policy. If we make an important change, we'll tell you by email or on our sites before it takes effect.
